Volunteers have celebrated a first successful year of running their own village library.
Members of the community got together at the Old School Room, Main Street, this week to celebrate the first anniversary of Addingham Community Library.
Those involved were presented with a certificate by Bradford Council officer Mandy Webb, who has been working with the community library volunteers on behalf of the council.
Villagers stepped in to save the library after it was earmarked for closure by Bradford Council last year.
Chairman of Addingham Community Library charity, ward councillor Adrian Naylor (Ind, Craven), said: “Its moved on light years from where we started.”
He said the library may soon be able to link into Bradford Council’s library computer systems, and a report has been received from an architect on what improvements could be made to the building.
The building is owned by Addingham Parish Council.
