Rod Knox, CEO of Virtual College, and its chairman, Bob Gomersall, present a cheque to the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith, towards his Sprinkle Sunshine appeal
The Lord Mayor of Bradford has collected a £2,000 donation from Ilkley company Virtual College for his Sprinkle Sunshine appeal.
Wharfedale ward councillor Dale Smith was presented with the donation when he recently visited the company’s town headquarters.
The aim of the Lord Mayor’s appeal is to benefit a wide range of charities across Bradford District.
However, Coun Smith has confirmed the Virtual College donation will specifically benefit those charities helping disadvantaged children within the Bradford area, such as the district’s Imagination Library. The children’s reading scheme is run under the auspices of a foundation set up by country singer Dolly Parton, and provides books to children under five in deprived areas across the district.
Since 2006, Virtual College has made donations totalling more than £135,000 to several children’s charities.
