An Otley-based expert and a local colleague are celebrating becoming joint winners of a top waste management industry award.
Ray Georgeson MBE, of RGR consultancy, and Harrogate-based Dr Jane Beasley, of Beasley Associates, were jointly awarded the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management’s James Jackson Medal.
The award is presented each year for the best paper published in the Institution’s Journal.
Mr Georgeson and Dr Beasley's winning paper, Made Today? Gone Tomorrow, discussed future trends in resource manage-men.
Mr Georgeson said: “I am truly honoured and delighted to share it with my long-standing friend and professional colleague, Dr Beasley.”
The awards were presented to the winners by this year’s Chartered Institution of Wastes Management president, John Skidmore, of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
He was accompanied by BBC Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury, who also presented the institution’s Awards for Environmental Excellence.
