LOCAL theatregoers are urged to hurry up and book their seats for the Ilkley Upstagers production of High School Musical' as tickets are selling fast.
The young cast are putting tremendous effort into making sure that this latest show lives up to the expectations created by last year's Les Misérables'.
The Ilkley-based theatre group, which celebrated its 21st anniversary in March, is determined to make sure that the cult Disney hit (which is about to spawn a second sequel) wows audiences again.
The plot follows that of the movie. The story of Troy, the popular captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella, super-smart student and science whizz, as they negotiate the tricky issues of peer pressure and classroom cliques to follow their dreams to score the leading roles in the upcoming school show and a place in each other's hearts.
The show features dazzling dance numbers, spellbinding songs and a tremendously enthusiastic and talented cast.
Some performances are already close to selling out.
The show runs from April 23-26 at the King's Hall, Ilkley, and tickets can be booked by calling 01943 607944. The Upstagers' Barn Booking office will be open from Saturday 11am to 1pm.
Upstagers' sizzling summer show at The Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, will be The Full Monty', which runs from July 16-19.
