Personal Overview - Succeeded former Tory minister David Curry (long-term Minister for Local Government under the Major Government) in this 'blue-chip' Conservative seat in North Yorkshire. His involvement in politics only stretches back a few years, however he has been involved with policy formation for the Party through his co-authorship of the Arculus Report into business regulation. Personal Overview - Replaced former MEP Diana Wallis in this seat in 2012 after she decided to stand down. Her family background stems from Todmorden in West Yorkshire where both her parents were former Mayors.
