It’s been almost five months since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton announced they were splitting up but Miranda is finally breaking her silence about life on her own.

The couple, who were married for four years, announced they were breaking up in early July and secured a quickie divorce.

“Marriage is a tough business, and we gave it our best college try,”  Miranda told the US version of Cosmopolitan, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

Blake, who is a judge on the American version of The Voice, has started romancing fellow judge Gwen Stefani but Miranda told the magazine she isn’t ready for a new relationship.

“I had a great relationship with an amazing man, so I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted.”

Now Miranda just wants to live life to the fullest:  “Some of that might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, ‘Man, this sucks right now.’”

But she singer says she will always find comfort in performing: “I feel the sexiest when I’m in my element, which is playing music,” she admits. “It doesn’t really matter what I’m wearing necessarily or where I’m at, just on stage with my band playing music is sort of where I feel like I belong and that makes me feel sexy.”

Miranda’s full interview with Cosmo hits US news-stands on December 3.
