Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars are already clocking up the year’s best-selling single, topping the mid-year charts in both the US and the UK.

The producer features Bruno on his track Uptown Funk, which according to a mid-year report just released by Nielsen Music has shifted 4,883,000 copies in the US. Meanwhile The Official Charts Company announced earlier this week that it had sold 1.44 million copies this year alone (1.93 million in total) on this side of the pond.

Ed Sheeran has also had huge success so far in 2015, hitting the number two spot in the US bestsellers and number 10 over here, while Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do is at number five in the US and number four in the UK.

Maroon 5′s Sugar and Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s collaboration FourFiveSeconds featured in both charts, too – Sugar was fourth in the US and eighth in the UK, while FourFiveSeconds reached nine in the Us and seven in the UK.
