AS a hint of Springtime finally hits the air, we’re celebrating in our own special way at Ilkley Cinema. Over the past months, we have shown live arts and theatre events that have been supremely popular with lots of you out there. Therefore, we have decided to reshow some of our best loved live shows for those of you that may have missed the boat the first time. Every evening this week, we will be showing some incredible performances including: La Boheme and La Traviata screened from the heart of Opera in Milan, NT Live: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Oscar Wilde’s classic Lady Windermere’s Fan and NT Live: Julius Caesar.

Joining our fabulous programme of arts is reportedly Daniel Day Lewis’ final performance before retirement in period drama Phantom Thread. Set in the heart and glamour of the 1950’s, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril are at the centre of British fashion, styling everyone from royalty to film stars to dames to socialites. But Reynolds’ finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love as young, strong-willed waitress, Alma, steps into his life and becomes his muse and lover.

We also take you into the world of middleweight boxing champion Matty Burton in British drama Journeyman, as the protagonist sees his life forever changed after a devastating blow in a boxing match. Awaking from a coma, the real fight begins. Suffering from memory loss and with his personality altered, Matty must begin to piece his life back together as his world disintegrates.

Finally, the thrilling novella You Were Never Really Here is brought spectacularly to life with Joaquin Phoenix at the helm of this haunting mystery thriller. We cut deep into the life of traumatised Gulf War veteran Joe, who spends his days tracking down missing girls. His next job is tracking down a senator’s daughter from a life of prostitution, but along the way he uncovers a conspiracy involving a state senator, crooked cops and federal agents, and the governor of New York.
