FREDDIE Flintoff, Tom Chambers, Jodie Prenger and Joanne Clifton are amongst stars appearing in shows this year at Bradford Alhambra.

Freddie joins Jodie Prenger and Natasha Hamilton in the musical version of Kay Mellor’s TV comedy-drama hit Fat Friends.

Natasha is returning by popular demand to play Julia Fleshman when the tour arrives at the Bradford theatre from May 14 to 19.

Natasha was one third of leading pop trio Atomic Kitten and on stage has starred as Mrs Johnston in Blood Brothers and in Rent.

She said: “Fat Friends has had the most amazing response from audiences who are on their feet every night.”

An Alhambra spokesman said: “Packed full of warmth, life and weight loss, this stage show reunites our favourite foodie friends in an original musical bulging with hopes, humour and heart.”

David Walliams’ hit children’s story Awful Auntie comes to the Alhambra from March 27 to 31 in the “funny and exciting” production from the Birmingham Stage Company, who were responsible for Walliams’ Gangsta Granny in 2016.

Ballet British Columbia, Canada’s leading contemporary dance company, can be seen at the Alhambra on March 23 and 24.

The 18-strong troupe promise an exhilarating evening of breathtaking dance by three internationally-celebrated choreographers.

The Vancouver-based company, touring the UK for the first time, was formed in 1986.

One of the dance pieces, 16+ a room, was choreographed by artistic director Emily Molnar and is inspired by the work of Virginia Woolf, Jeannette Winterson and Emily Dickinson.

It is sparked with explosive, fast-paced choreography that pushes the dancers to their athletic and technical best.

Flashdance, an adaptation of the hit 1980s musical, features Strictly Come Dancing champion Joanne Clifton and Ben Adams from pop group A1, from April 3 to 7.

Crazy For You, from April 10 to 14, starring Tom Chambers with Clare Sweeney and Charlotte Wakefield, is a romantic comedy set in the Wild West featuring songs like I Got Rhythm and Shall We Dance, and Nice Work If You Can Get It.

The songs of Marc Bolan and his band T Rex, fill the musical 20th Century Boy from May 1 to 5, with hits like Ride A White Swan and Metal Guru and I Love to Boogie.

Matthew Bourne’s acclaimed setting of Tchaikovsky’s ballet Cinderella during the Second World War will be performed from May 8 to 12.
