A LOCAL band inspired by two iconic groups of the Seventies will kick off Otley Courthouse's new Spring-Summer programme.

No Mean Feat is a five-piece outfit which pays homage to two giants of the 1970s music scene in the US - Steely Dan and Little Feat.

The group - which has a growing following and reputation - plays an eclectic mix of tunes from the likes of Hall & Oates, Tears for Fears, ABC, Steve Millar Band, Paul Carrack, The Police and many more.

Featuring Phil Rushfirth on keyboards, Stix Christie on drums and percussion, Steven Smith on bass, Paul Meehan on vocals and Alan Robinson on lead guitar, No Mean Feat regularly wow audiences with their wide repertoire of material.

Their Otley show takes place from 8pm on Friday, March 2 - and they are promising 'an event guaranteed to get your own feet tapping and dancing along'.

A Courthouse spokeswoman said: "Otley Courthouse is proud to support and promote local talent and this band is no exception.

"It is great that the new programme starts with a local band in what is sure to be a busy spring and summer at the Courthouse."

Tickets cost £8 and can be booked by visiting www.otleycourthouse.org.uk, calling (01943) 467466 or popping into the Courthouse, on Courthouse Street, Otley.
