WE'RE jumping aboard the Oscar buzz bandwagon this week at Ilkley Cinema, with a duo of films creating quite a stir in Hollywood, so come on down from January 26th - February 1st to find out why.

It doesn’t matter if you are the richest man in the world, sometimes you have to pay the price. People of a certain age might remember the story behind drama All the Money in the World, where American oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty (Christopher Plummer) had exactly that, and with it came power, greed and selfishness. In 1973, his grandson John Paul Getty was kidnapped and held to ransom for $17 million by an organised crime rig in Rome.

As the captors become increasingly more violent, Getty Sr. is unmoved by the situation. Even desperate pleas from the child's mother Gail (Michelle Williams) won't sway him to pay the ransom. But when Getty Sr. sends his enigmatic security man Fletcher Chace (Mark Wahlberg) to look after his interests, he and Gail become unlikely allies in this race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.

We explore another story of justice this week, in the hotly anticipated dark comedy Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) is a mother without justice. Months have passed with no culprit found to her daughter's murder and decides to take matters into her own hands. Buying the advertising space on the billboards outside of her town, she writes a controversial message directed at William Willoughby (Woody Harrelson), the town's revered chief of police. And this is only the beginning, and Hayes will not stop until justice is served.

Finally, we bring you the touching story of Ferdinand in this weekend's Kids' Club. A bull bred to destroy, is a lover not a fighter, and wishes for nothing more than to live in peace on a farm with his adopted family.
