JUST as we thought we were done with the tinsel, Yeadon Amateurs have announced their autumn play - A Kick in the Baubles.

The festive farce, by Gordon Steel, is tipped to appeal to audiences young and old and the drama group is throwing open auditions to newcomers.

The play, which will be directed by Kath Williams, will have its first read through at 10am on Saturday, February 3 at Yeadon Liberal Club. Up to nine parts will be available, including three couples, aged over 35, and three older teenagers or people in their early 20s.

Pam Beck, secretary for Yeadon Amateurs said: "As a community theatre group we are keen to hear from local people who want to get involved but perhaps didn’t know how. We have such great support from our existing members and want to encourage everyone to join in. We know this is a great play with such comedic opportunity and thought it the perfect opportunity to encourage newcomers to join our group."

Anyone who is interested in going to the first read through should contact pam.beck@hotmail.co.uk to register before Saturday, February 3. The show will be performed at Yeadon Town Hall in early autumn this year.
