OTLEY Film Society will present two classic thrillers next weekend.

The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum and The Vanishing will both be shown at Otley Courthouse on Sunday, January 21.

The screenings are the result of the society teaming up with the Home - Manchester States of Danger and Deceit and the BFI Thriller seasons.

That will be followed by tea and cake before the the first movie, The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, is shown at 3.30pm.

Set in a climate of fear and paranoia, the film shows Angela Winkler as the young woman of the title whose life is slowly destroyed by the media after she meets a man suspected by the authorities of being a political activist.

The evening film, The Vanishing, will be presented at 7.45pm and is described as a 'supremely disturbing' psychological thriller about an abduction.

Tickets for either film cost £5 or £8 for both, with the talk free to all ticket-holders.

Otley Film Society will be serving up lighter fare, meanwhile, beforehand on Thursday, January 18 when it presents Sing Street at 7.45pm.
