JOIN Alexandra Lowe and her guests as she presents a festive concert of her favourite Christmas songs, songs from the musicals and opera classics.

Set in the enchanting chapel at Rudding Park in Harrogate, be prepared to be taken to a musical evening that will get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Described as ‘a radiantly warm soprano with an innate stage presence’ (Seen and Heard International) and more recently ‘a rich lyric soprano’ (The Telegraph) Alexandra is a sought after young soprano - having won several distinguished awards including the Andrew Lloyd Webber Sarah Brightman Scholarship - who is soon to take on the operatic stage in London's West End.

After studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, Alexandra has been training on the prestigious opera course at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama since September 2017. Alexandra will be using this concert to help fund her studies for the next two years. Having raised over £35,000 for various charities since the age of 17, this one is to help her to continue her training.

She will be supported by two colleagues from the Guildhall. Baritone Benson Wilson, born in New Zealand, of Samoan decent, training alongside Alexandra on the opera course. This year Benson performed with the London Symphony Orchestra and recorded a BBC concert. He was the winner of New Zealand’s premiere singing competition, the ‘Lexus Song Quest’, previously won by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. Soprano Isabelle Peters, is currently studying for her Masters of Music at the Guildhall, where she was the 2017 winner of the ‘Franz-Schubert-Institut Lieder Prize’ and the ‘Chartered Surveyors’ Award for Voice. In 2016 Isabelle made her professional theatre debut as the Royal Exchange, Manchester, where her ‘angelic-voiced’ (Upstaged Manchester) Rapunzel in Into the Woods was received with great warmth.

Also performing is aspiring singer Evie Johnstone who is ten-years old and currently attends Bronte House School. Evie sings in the school choir and the headteachers choir where she recently performed a solo for Harvest Festival in Chapel. Evie is studying for her Grade 3 musical theatre exam, and has previously been awarded a distinction for her grades 1 and 2. She also attends the Greenroom at Ilkley Playhouse where she will be performing in their next production of Peter Pan.

The concert takes place on Sunday, December 10 in The Chapel, Rudding Park Hotel, Follifoot, Harrogate, and starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 from Harrogate Tourist Information Centre, 01423 537300.
