THE joint choirs of Otley and Ilkley Choral Societies are excited about performing Mendelssohn’s wonderful Elijah at Otley Parish Church on Saturday, November 18 at 7:30pm.
This will be the first concert under the choirs new musical director, Yonni Levy who is thrilled to be conducting the choirs in such a tremendous masterpiece. The choirs are joined by four up and coming young soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music: Louis Hurst (Elijah), Baritone, Matt Mears, Tenor, Jennifer Rust, soprano and Emma Wheeler, Mezzo soprano. Otto, a choral group based at Leeds College of Music will be providing the semi chorus. The choirs also welcome Tom Moore, organist at Wakefield cathedral, who will be accompanying throughout the performance.
Tickets are available from Browns Gallery or The Grove book shop, £12. Student and under 18s are free. Tickets will also be available from choir members or at the door.
