ASHLEY Jackson – The Yorkshire Artist is a new book which contains a collection of paintings that have been personally chosen by the artist to bring together his personal memories and reflections of the emotions and atmosphere captured in each watercolour.

Each painting conveys the unique and diverse landscapes of Yorkshire and Ashley worked closely with the publishers to ensure a close colour reproduction to the original painting.

He said: "All artists paint what inspires them, what allows them to capture what they see with their eyes with their hands and heart. We all have differing inspirations, mediums and connections with our subject – mine is the Yorkshire Moors."

From the open moorland of Marsden Moor to the inhabited landscape of Whitby, this book brims with what Ashley does best; capturing the atmospheric skies and drama of the landscape. "I have strived throughout my life to witness and portray every mood swing of nature as she takes a stand against all that the elements throw at her, whether that be rain, wind, snow or fire," he added.

In celebration of the book launch, from mid October, for the very first time he has brought together a collection of the paintings so that they may be exhibited at The Ashley Jackson Gallery, 13-15 Huddersfield Rd, Holmfirth for everyone to see the printed version alongside the full scale.

All books purchased from the gallery will be signed by Ashley with a small sketch during the exhibition period.

Ashley Jackson – The Yorkshire Artist "A Lifetime of Inspiration Captured in Watercolour', is £25 published by Pen & Sword Books Limited.
