A FEROCIOUS true-life crime drama from Argentina, The Clan, will be Ilkley Film Society's next screening on Sunday, September 17 at Ilkley Playhouse at 8pm.
In 1980s Buenos Aires an apparently normal middle-class family, the Puccios, who include a school teacher and a star rugby player, live an outwardly ordinary life among their unsuspecting neighbours. Their main income, however, comes from kidnapping, extortion and murder.
Directed by Pablo Trapero, best known for his international hit comedy Familia Rodante. The Clan won him the Best Director award at the Venice Film Festival, a Best Film prize at the Goya Awards in Spain, and was Argentina's entry for last year's Oscars.
Membership is still available for the new season. Non-members are welcome as guests (£4) but their admission cannot be guaranteed unless they reserve tickets in advance by phoning Dave Howell on 01943 430097.
