BRADFORD Festival Choral Society is holding a Come and Sing Mozart’s Requiem event on Sunday, February 12 between 2pm and 5pm, with a free concert at 6pm.

Registration for the event at Beckfoot School, BD16 1EE, opens at 1.30pm.

Whether you are an experienced choral singer or a newcomer this is a great chance to try singing Mozart’s hauntingly beautiful music with this exciting choir.

The choir is led by Tom Leech their renowned musical director who makes Come and Sing workshops fun whilst focussing on the detail too. Tom said: “What makes the choir so good to work with is the breadth of experience of the singers. We have some who have sung in choirs the whole of their adult lives and others who last sang in primary school.”

Maggie Eisner, the choir’s chairperson said: “Our ‘Come and Sing’ events have been praised for combining a friendly and informal atmosphere with brilliant musical content. You’ll learn some wonderful music, enjoy Tom’s insights, tips and humour, and pick up new vocal ideas along the way. Some music-reading ability and a little previous choral experience will help you get the most out of the afternoon.”

After a three hour workshop there will be a free concert where singers are encouraged to invite friends and family to hear the fruits of their afternoon’s work.

Tickets are £12 in advance and £15 on the day. Under 18s are free.To find out more and apply go to www.bradfordfestivalchoralsociety.org.uk or email bradfordfestivalchoralsociety@gmail.com.
