WITH just a few days to wait for the second Blues Festival in Ilkley, the final lineup has been announced.

On Saturday, October 22 a wide variety of blues influenced music will characterise the day, from solo performers to six piece bands. Leeds band The Leeds City Stompers will open the day at 2pm and will surely get the crowd straight in the groove with their American vintage blues and swing sound.

Headlining the day are Born Healer from London who released their debut album earlier this year to wide acclaim. The music is heavy, soulful blues, with a groove, and singer Helen Turner has been favourably compared to the likes of Janis Joplin and Maggie Bell. The fact that Robert Plant dropped in to see her, Iain and Andy play a pub gig not that long ago speaks volumes, and makes Born Healer one to watch.

The programme for the day, which will be held at the Clarke Foley Centre in Ilkley is: Born Healer 10pm; Dr Bob and the Bluesmakers 8.45pm; Blue Kings 7.30pm; Dave Speight 6.15pm; Ben Blue Waters 5pm; Brian Rawson Band 4pm; Acme Blues Band 3pm; Leeds City Stompers 2pm. Times may vary on the day
