SIMON Beaufoy's award-winning Full Monty will be coming to Leeds Grand Theatre later this year.

The show, adapted for the stage from the hugely successful 1997 film, runs from November 28 to December 3.

It tells the story of six out-of-work Sheffield men with nothing to lose who take an audacious, risky but hilariously unforgettable route to fame and fortune.

They decide to deal with their money problems by forming a male striptease act, which against the odds proves a big hit with the ladies.

The cast will be led by Gary Lucy (Danny Pennant in EastEnders and Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks) as Gaz, along with Joe Absolom as Lomper, Andrew Dunn as Gerald, Louis Emerick as Horse, Chris Fountain as Guy and Kai Owen as Dave.

The feel-good show will feature the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

It is Simon Beaufoy’s first work for the theatre, and he has adapted it from his own screenplay.

Mr Beaufoy, who is originally from Glusburn, has racked up an impressive array of screen credits, including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Salmon Fishing in Yemen, Yasmin, 127 Hours, and Slumdog Millionaire, as well as The Full Monty.

Tickets for The Full Monty are on sale now, priced from £11 to £35.50. Visit leedsgrandtheatre.com or call the box office on 0844 8482700 to book.
