AIREDALE Symphony Orchestra promises an afternoon a beautiful music at Victoria Hall in Saltaire on January 24.

In a programme packed with a range of dance music, the 3pm concert will include a “fabulous” symphonic arrangement of Riverdance by Bill Whelan.

The orchestra will also perform the Carmen Fantasie Brilliante for Saxophone and Orchestra with soloist Anthony Brown.

The programme is completed by Nicolai’s overture from The Merry Wives of Windsor, Tchaikovsky’sSleeping Beauty Waltz and Francesca da Rimini, Manuel de Falla’s Three Cornered Hat Suite, and Johann Strauss’s Waltz 1001 Nights.

Tickets cost £12 for adults, £10 and £6 for concessions, and free for under 11s.

Airedale Symphony Orchestra will be joined by cello soloist George Hoult for a 7.30pm concert on March 20 at King’s Hall in Ilkley, featuring Brahms’s Tragic Overture, Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor, and Dvorak’s Symphony No 7 in D minor.

The final concert of the season will be back at Victoria Hall on June 26 at 7.30pm with soloist Alexandra Wood, to play Khachaturian’s Masquerade’s Suite, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No 2 in G minor and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No 2 in E minor.
