A SHOW described as the greatest musical of all time is being performed in Yeadon this week.

Les Miserables is running at Yeadon Town Hall from Thursday, November 26th to Sunday, November 29. The epic musical version of Victor Hugo's French revolution novel tells the moving story of Jean Valjean, a peasant trying to start a new life after serving nineteen years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child.

Winner of 76 international awards, Les Mis is the world's longest running musical and has been seen by millions of people worldwide.

The Les Miserables - School Edition will be staged in Yeadon by Futurist Productions.

A spokeswoman said: "From the same company that presented Starlight Express in June, this extremely talented youth cast are set to wow audiences in Yeadon with this iconic musical. Tickets are selling fast - get them while you still can as this is definitely a show not to be missed."

Shows start at 7.30pm fromThursday to Saturday, with an extra performance at 2.30pm on Saturday and performances at 1pm and 5.30pm on Sunday.

Les Miserables was voted top out of 100 musicals chosen by radio station's JemmThree's listeners, beating off strong competition from Wicked.

The inspirational and tear-jerking show traces the moving stories of a range of characters whose lives are caught up by the revolution.

Futurist Productions will hold a summer school next year for students aged from 11 to 19 to take part in a professionally

led, theatre based summer school. Running from August 22 to September 3 organisers say the summer school will be professionally led and is ideal for students who are keen to develop their acting, singing and dancing skills. Workshops will be led by industry professionals who will train students throughout the 2 week intensive workshops, culminating in a semi-professional musical production.

The cost of the Summer School is from £15 per day, which includes all tuition and production costs.
