CULT Australian singers the Spooky Men will be holding a special singing workshop in Otley this month.

The black-clad outfit, known for their interesting hats and dramatic performances, will take the stage at Otley Courthouse on Sunday, August 27.

The 3pm to 4.30pm show will see the band, led by Stephen Taberner, encouraging audience members of both sexes and all ages to join them as they perform their unusual repertoire of songs.

The Spooky Men have been gathering a cult following ever since they made their official debut at the National Folk Festival of Easter, 2004, in Australia.

Boasting their own Spooky Man theme song, they sing about everything from fierce tribal gestures to the contents of a shed.

Sing Like A Bloke - Spooky Men's Chorale Workshop in Otley costs £12 per person and tickets can be booked by calling (01943) 467466 or visiting otleycourthouse.org.uk .

An Otley Courthouse spokesman said: " this is truly a good chance to learn how to sing like a Spooky man!"
