A POP star whose band enjoyed chart success in the 1990s is preparing to play an 'Unbelievable' show in Otley.

James Atkin, the former frontman of EMF, will be promoting his new solo album when he performs at Korks Wine Bar on Friday, June 12.

EMF notched up several hits including their biggest, debut single Unbelievable, which reached number 3 in the UK in 1990 - and number one in the US the following year.

James, who now lives in Clapham and has been a music teacher in Keighley for the past five years, will be supported at the Otley show by Miranda Arieh.

There will also be a DJ set from Tim Hamblin, with the doors opening at 8pm.

Tickets cost £8 and are available from leedsgigtickets.co.uk.

The Otley gig will act as a warm-up before James plays at a handful of summer festivals, and will feature tracks from his new album A Country Mile.

He said: "This will be a very special pre-festival warm up and it's gonna be an amazing night where we will be joined by the immensely talented Miranda Arieh, playing live, and the truly gifted Tim Hamblin."
