HEALING therapies, remedies, products and talks will return to Ilkley’s King’s Hall and Winter Garden next weekend as the two-day Ilkley Complementary Medicine Festival brings visitors from far and wide into town.

Now in its 27th year, the festival takes place twice a year, featuring trade stands, demonstrations and a range of talks by experts in many different fields.

Billed as the UK’s premier festival promoting complementary therapy, the event on March 28 and 29 will play host to most than 60 participants – stands with taster treatments, talks to introduce new ideas and therapies and the chance to meet with therapists from all over the country.

There will be a buzz of healing therapies, products and fascinating talks at the Ilkley Complementary Medicine Festival this weekend. Michael Weaver, organiser of the town’s 27-year-old festival, is looking forward to a weekend full of lively activities with over sixty participants: stands with taster treatments, talks to introduce new ideas and therapies and the chance to meet with therapists from all over the country.

Organiser, Michael Weaver, is looking forward to the festival.

He said: “I’m more excited than ever about this Spring Festival, as we have some wonderful products and therapies on the stands and talks all day Saturday and Sunday, that can be booked online from now. This will hopefully avoid people being disappointed on the day, as many talks prove so popular.”

A new event for this festival will be an Ask the Therapist session, with therapists from the Therapists of Ilkley Together group.

An Introduction to the Alexander Technique will be given in a talk by Bridget Barr, and Josie Wood of Heartful Living will present a talk on Heart Powered Manifesting.

Dietary specialist from the BBC Good Food Eat Well Show, Renee Maguire, will be talking about Raw Chi Food, Sarah Atkinson and Jane Alexander will discuss Journeying with Medlings – plant energy and transformation, and Anna-Louse Haigh, mentor, retreat facilitator and author of The Soul Whisperer, specialising in Soulistic awakening tools and techniques for new beginnings, will give a talk.

Workshops are run on both days and cover a range of topics from crystals, healthy drinks and food.

There will also be a stronger presence of Yorkshire and local therapists this spring as the festival welcomes back the combined Therapists of Ilkley group.

This 98-strong group brings together homeopaths, Bowen Technique practitioners, reflexologists, holistic massage therapist and an Alexander Technique teacher.

The Festival is open from 10am until 5pm both days and admission is £4 (£3.50 concessions). A two day pass is £6.50. Visit icmf.co.uk for more.
