A BAND which reunited five years ago after splitting up in the 80s is to perform is 100th gig in Addingham this weekend.
Rock covers band, Broken Empire, from Harrogate, will play at the Swan, Main Street, Addingham on Saturday (August 30).
The boys played together at Boroughbridge High School in the mid-eighties, but parted ways at 20.
Five years ago they reunited and now they celebrate their 100th performance in Addingham - which they claim is a triumph of hard, consistent work, rather than flighty teenagers, always falling out.
They play a wide range of covers, among them a mixture of Rolling Stones, Smiths, Motorhead, Sex Pistols, Who, Kinks and Jam.
Landlord of the Swan, Ian Frost, said: “We are very much looking forward to seeing Broken Empire play at the Swan once again, they are a great band who draw a good audience. Being their 100th gig together, it should be a very special night.”
