OTLEY Courthouse's final movie matinee of the season will be the multi award-winning The Help.

The film, about an aspiring author's decision in the 1960s to write a book focusing on African-American maids' views of the white families they work for, will be shown at 2pm on Thursday, August 14.

Tickets cost £4, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits during the interval.

Indie-folk band Feldspar will kick off the venue's autumn programme with an 8pm show on Saturday 6 September 6.

The band are building a fast growing army of fans thanks to their heartfelt songs of triumph, heartbreak, bitterness, anguish and redemption - all served by some swooping, Jeff Buckley style singing from lead vocalist Will Green.

Their Courthouse performance also represents a homecoming for two of the band members, who learned their trade as teenagers on the northern folk scene and at Otley Folk Festival.

Tickets cost £10 or £8 in advance, or £11 or £9 on the door.

Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen fans, meanwhile, should be in for an unusual treat on Saturday, September 13.

Singer Barb Jungr will give her unique interpretation of some of the enduring hits from both artists when she presents Hard Rain - based on her album of the same name - from 8pm.

Tickets cost £13 or £11 in advance or £14 or £12 on the door.
