Bradford’s Apprenticeship Training Agency has used Halloween to raise awareness of the opportunities available across the district.

Staff, dressed as pumpkins, ran an information stand in the city’s Kirkgate Centre yesterday to encourage businesses and young people to get involved in the scheme.

ATA manager Stacey Jobson said that more than 20 apprenticeships are on offer at the moment in areas such as in civil engineering, accounting and dentistry.

“We are trying to draw attention to the wide range of opportunities we have available, and promote an understanding of the overall values and benefits of apprenticeships,” she said.

The £7.7 million ATA initiative, part of the ‘Get Bradford Working’ programme, has so far secured 28 apprenticeships and has received praise from the 50 Bradford-based employers involved.
