THE ILKLEY Carnival committee is on the lookout for sponsors to help make 2015’s event the most successful yet.

Last year, more than 50 organisations helped raise £15,000 for local charities, with £7,500 going to 2014’s primary beneficiary, LS29 Special Needs Support Group.

Leading the search for this year’s fantasy and fiction themed event is committee member Jackie Davison, who hopes to gain the sponsorship backing of businesses across the district.

She said: “We already have some great plans for the day’s events but we need to get sponsors backing the carnival to make it a real success.

“The money that we raise will go to a wonderful cause. We have helped a range of charities in the past and hope to once again make a big difference to a charity or organisation in need of help.”

For the third year running, Kashmiri Aroma will be the main sponsor of Ilkley Carnival. Managing director, Tariq Mahmood, is encouraging other businesses to get involved in the May Day event.

He said: “We’re proud to be sponsoring such a community-driven event. ”

Sponsorship deals for the carnival start from £50 for the Banner Only Package, £100 for the Quest Package, £175 for the Hero Package and £250 for the Legend Package.
