Guiseley School pupils get a taste of working world
9:50am Sunday 4th March 2012 in Features
Guiseley School has a new mini-lathe which was being tested for the first time by pupil Oliver Robinson (seated) with the help of trainer Steve Bowers
Students at Guiseley School got a taste of life in industry when they tried their hands at using a lathe.
Teenagers studying for an engineering diploma were shown how to use the lathe, which the school has just bought, and which is a smaller version of those used in industry.
A training company came into school to show students how to use the equipment.
Members of the Bradford Model Engineering Society also took part in the training session as part of a community link.
