Ghyll Royd to open nursery facility

Ghyll Royd School will be opening its doors to babies in the new year.

The school, established 120 years ago, is setting up its own day nursery, Babes In The Wood, for children aged three months to two-and-a-half years.

The move comes just months after the Burley-in-Wharfedale school invited girls to attend for what is believed to be the first time in the school’s history.

Headteacher Irene Connor said: “We are all looking forward to welcoming our new babies and toddlers to Ghyll Royd and are thrilled by the changes that are taking place. Christmas is always a busy time but this year we also have the added excitement of showing new parents around the school and potential new staff members.

“Although we have recruited our key staff, including manager Liz Bevan, we are certain that new team members will be needed as our initial registrations continue to grow.

The day nursery will be open 50 weeks of the year, but parents can also opt for term-time provision.
