All Saints have grounds for delight over new facility

CHILDREN will not be the only ones enjoying new sports facilities at All Saints Primary School in Ilkley.

The artificial grass pitch can be hired by sports clubs and residents, raising cash the school and a charity of the pupils’ choice.

The Multi-Use Gym Area (MUGA) has been funded through a £6,000 grant from Ilkley Parish Council with support from Ilkley business Landmarks Ltd and the School Association.

From football and hockey to basketball and birthday parties, the pitch can be used all year round.

Headteacher Peter Marsh said he was delighted that the new facility would extend the physical education curriculum the children.

“The aim is to ensure that the wider community benefit too, not only in respect of being able to hire the facility but also via the fact that 20 per cent of any income generated through the MUGA will be donated to a local charity of my children’s school council’s choosing,” he said.“I am hopeful that the community will reap the rewards of the facility years to come.”

To book the facility, call the school on 01943 607852.
