Menston pupils bring their favourite storybook characters to life

Mr Men, fairies, princes and frogs turned up to lessons at Menston Primary School to celebrate the school’s book day.

Youngsters were asked to dress up as their favourite book characters in a celebration of literature at the school.

Teachers joined in the fun, donning Mr Men and Little Miss outfits to entertain youngsters who were left a series of clues to guess who their teacher was.

Literacy manager Lorraine Gregson said: “The children had a lovely time and so did the staff!

“We do our own version of World Book Day at the school to coincide with our book fair and the children loved getting involved. The school was full of very colourful characters and we held a few competitions which the children really enjoyed.”
