Youngsters at Ghyll Royd School for boys welcomed 13 chicks to their classroom last week as part of the Easter preparations at the school.
Helen Smith, who has two boys at the school, brought 20 eggs in an incubator for the youngsters to observe.
Pupils in the reception class at the school were fascinated by the eggs which last week started to hatch.
Now there are 13 little yellow chicks chirping away under the heat lamp.
Reception teacher Mrs Reid said: “All the boys throughout the school have been so excited about the hatching chicks project. “My reception boys have enthusiastically observed, writ-ten, drawn, weighed and meas-ured our babies. There is nothing more wonderful than having cheeping chicks in the classroom – new life after a long winter.”
