YEADON Primitive Methodists were staging a nativity play when this undated photograph was taken.
The picture is now in the archives of Aireborough Historical Society.
Archivist Carlo Harrison said: "St. Francis of Assisi, is credited with staging the first nativity scene in 1223. The only historical account we have of Francis' nativity scene comes from The Life of St. Francis of Assisi by St. Bonaventure, a Franciscan monk who was born five years before Francis' death."
Meanwhile in 1996 four-year-old Olivia Tabel showed off her Christmas pudding hat. All pupils at Sacred Heart School, Ilkley, made special headwear for their Christmas dinner.
