BOTH these photographs were taken in 1963 and show contrasting scenes between a youth camp and the centuries old ceremonials of the Church.

The international youth camp took place at Langbar and shows young people who are extremely conservatively dressed by today's standards. Dutch and German youths are seated in the photograph while the Yorkshire lads are stood behind them. The event was sponsored by members of the Dales Group of Rotary Clubs, and the Round Tables of Otley and Ilkley.

The second photograph shows the new wardens' staffs, at Farnley Church. Among those pictured are the then Bishop of Bradford, the Rev. John W. Towell, and Mr Hugh Cameron.
