A group of schoolchildren have been making a splash for charity.

Pupils from the Ghyll Royd School in Burley-in-Wharfedale, hit the water to take part in the Big Splash Mile.

Having taken home sponsorship forms prior to the day, they splashed their way down the pool during their normal weekly swimming lesson raising more than £1,000.

This amount will be added to the money raised by over 13 million people throughout the UK who were also taking part in swimming events to raise vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sport Relief.
