Dennis the Menace and Snow White were among the characters on show at school for World Book Day.

Staff and pupils at Ghyll Royd School, in Burley-in-Wharfedale, donned an array of costumes and clothes and were dressed as characters from their favourite books.

Headteacher Joanne Jenkinson, alias Winnie The Witch, gave all pupils a £1 book token to spend on a book of their choice.

Everyone will be more suitably clad in their school uniforms to welcome visitors to their open afternoon on Saturday from 1.30pm to 4pm, and to their open day drop-in on Thursday, March 15, from 9am to 7pm.
