Moorfest brings an independent flavour to Addingham
This year sees the fourth all-singing, all-dancing Moorfest on Addingham Moorside from August 7-9.
With its deeply independent nature the music festival remains unsponsored by corporations keeping itself firmly at grass roots level.
The festival is a mix of musical and visual talent including folk, rock, blues, electro, breaks, drum and bass, techno, house, indie, Brit-pop, nu rave, old rave, hip hop, dubstep, reggae, dub, beatboxing, breakdancing, baton twirling, fire eating, plus visuals, multi media, film and cinema tent, art installations, workshops, kids' space, play activities, comedy, cabaret, beer and stalls.
There will be an exiting new field this year - the Dubluv Family Field and this will host the VW show and shine competition.
The field will have the now legendary Kids' Space tent with added trampolines, bouncy castles and extra fun for all the kids.
Access to Music are coming on board to offer music workshops which will include everything from song writing and circuit bending to DJ scratching.
The Moor Festival team are excited to bring you news that they have just confirmed Forward Russia and The Long Blondes and Mr Clint Boon of XFM and The Inspiral Carpets on the outdoor Moorlive stage stage on Friday evening.
Like all Festivals they have to stick to the agreed licence time for playing amplified music, which is 1am at the Moor Music Festival.
If you think that's too early for the party to stop well don't be disappointed as this year there will be a new and improved Headset Disco playing until the early hours in its new location in the bar.
If you haven't been before imagine 500 happy party heads dancing like monkeys while listening to two different types of music being blasted through state of the art headphones.
This year there will be a small charge to cover cost of loss and damage of headphones which works out to at the equivalent of one pound an hour.
The Green Room will also be hive of activity showing quality films and visual art right the way through the night. There will also be some hidden surprises.
Tickets for the festival have now gone up to the full price of £65 for the full weekend ticket and £35 for a day ticket. If there are any tickets left to be sold on the gate they will be charged at £80 for a weekend and £40 for a day.
There will be loads more fun for all the family at this year's festival so don't leave the kids at home bring them along and don't forget children under 12 go for free if they are accompanied by responsible adults.
Also Under-16s are only allowed in with a responsible adult. See www.moormusicfestival.co.uk
