No, the Policeman isn't the Stripper!
When Stampede Theatre Company rehearses for their next show, The Full Monty', the cast could be forgiven for sometimes thinking the stripper has already arrived.
Cast member Jamie Wilkinson's day job just happens to be as a Police Constable, a favourite outfit for Strippers!
'"I work shifts and sometimes have to go to rehearsal straight from work," said Jamie, "when I walk in, in uniform I get a few wolf whistles and jeers from the cast but it's all in good humour. I think the lads that are playing the strippers are a bit jealous really!"
Jamie is playing several roles within the production which is on at Yeadon Town Hall.
"It's going to be a great show, it's just like the film with all the funny one-liners and the same storyline; the strip is only a really small part of that, if you'll forgive the pun!"
Jamie is used to getting ribbed by his work colleagues for his antics on the stage having played a woman in Bat Boy, The Musical' with The Grove and Rawdon Theatre Company and also for his stunning outfit in Stampede's blockbuster We Will Rock You' last Summer.
"I had to play a Bohemian and was told to put together an interesting mix of styles - I thought that hiking boots and green hot pants was a good look! Luckily I don't have to wear too many outlandish costumes in The Full Monty', I think a Roman Gladiator is about as strange as it gets."
Stampede Theatre Company are quickly gaining a reputation for brilliant Theatre within the local area. Last year's production of We Will Rock You' sold out and had a waiting list of over 500 people! Make sure you don't miss The Full Monty' which is sure to be great night's entertainment for everybody. The show runs at Yeadon Town Hall from February 19-23 at 7.30pm each evening. Tickets are still available for every night apart from Saturday which is sold out. Call the Box Office on 0113 2029524 or call in at Dance Attitude 2, High Street, Yeadon.
