Clean-ups planned in Ilkley for Bloom judging
PREPARATIONS are under way in Ilkley for the first visit of the year from the Yorkshire in Bloom judges.
They will carry out their Spring round of judging for the annual competition on Wednes-day, April 9.
The group co-ordinating Ilkley's entry in the competition, Ilkley in Bloom, is now plotting the official judging route and hopes to organise two litter-picking sessions to get the town tidy in time.
Ilkley in Bloom is asking volunteers to join in a litter pick on Sunday, April 6. Volunteers are asked to meet in the South Hawksworth Street car park at 10am, where litter picking sticks and rubbish sacks will be provided.
But another Spring clean will take place the evening before the judges come to Ilkley, to make sure any litter that has accumulated has been removed.
The second litter pick will take place from 6.30pm, and volunteers are again asked to meet in the central car park.
