SHELTON James Melvin Former Magistrate and Chairman of the Bench, twice chairman of Ilkley UDC and Councillor for 25 years, worked tirelessly for Wharfedale and Ilkley Moor Lions Club, Poppy Day organiser for the RBL, Burley branch for over 60 years. Peacefully on August 17, at the Cedars Care Home, Methley and formerly of Burley in Wharfedale, aged 90 years. Husband of the late Hazel, dear father and father-in-law of Lesley and Michael, much loved grandad of Andrew and Jane and grandad-in-law of Natasha, great-grandad of Olivia and Harry. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 31, at Cottingley Hall Crematorium, at 11.40a.m. Family flowers only please, donations if desired for Alzheimer's Society, for which a box will be provided at the service.
