WEATHERALL Mary On August 22 peacefully in Abbydale Residential Home, Ilkley aged 88 years. Former teacher at Ilkley Grammar School. Dear friend to Christine Bailey and the late Jim Bailey. Funeral service will be held at Rawdon Crematorium on Friday September 5 at 11.00am. No flowers by request donations in Mary’s memory may be given to Sue Ryder. You were SPECIAL to me too and during the same years as the Burley Lads. You have left an impression on so many pupils who attended Ilkley Secondary School. I shall always remember you.

Miss Weatherall, thanks for everything you taught us in English Language/English Literature between 1958 and 1963. As you told us, never use the word "NICE" - it means nothing. Use better words, "SPECIAL, EXCELLENT" etc but never NICE !! Thanks for the Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Southey, Sassoon, Keats & Coleridge. You are in our thoughts.
